To convert AD to BS, choose an English date in the left panel. To convert BS to AD, choose a Nepali date in the right panel. Each result shows the weekday and the date in numbers, for example 2083-07-19 BS.
Bikram Sambat months follow the sun, so there is no fixed offset between the two calendars: the same English date falls on a different Nepali day from one year to the next. The converter counts days from 1 Baisakh 2000 BS (14 April 1943) using the month lengths of every year in between.

How do I convert an English date to a Nepali date?

Why can't Nepali dates be calculated with a simple formula?
Bikram Sambat months follow the sun's position, so their lengths (29–32 days) change from year to year and are fixed by the official calendar. The converter uses a table of month lengths for each year.
Which dates are supported?
It covers 2000 BS (14 April 1943) to 2093 BS (April 2037). Month lengths after 2083 BS are provisional until the official calendar for those years is published.
